Fabulous fire cider turnout!

We had a great turnout at our fire cider event last Wednesday and it was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who came and helped out. A special thank you to our bravest soldiers who chopped the onions, grated horseradish and minced jalapenos in the Grange kitchen, the fumes were wicked! We filled 21 quart size jars with fire cider. Woohoo! I'm so glad that we got a bunch of herbal medicine out into the community.

There are a few ideas brewing for future events. I would love your input on what you might like to learn! We are considering hosting as a class about medicinal properties of elderberry preparations and hopefully sending folks home with an elderberry elixir to support a healthy immune response when a cold comes knocking. There's a fair amount of planning involved with workshops like these, and I am open to suggestions as to what you may like to see in a workshop. What preparations might you like to learn about or take home? We have hosted an herb circle before, where we talk about all the properties of a single plant as a group, so everyone can share their experiences. Is there a specific herb you want to deep dive on? Feel free to shoot me an email or reach out via the contact form with your thoughts.

A friendly reminder that all of the material I provided about the meeting is available on this website. We discussed ginger, garlic and cayenne which each have a page. There is a separate page for the basic fire cider information and recipe.

I look forward to future meetings! Be well!
